Enjin is an online gaming community platform with over 250,000 different communities and over 19 million registered gamers. The Enjin team has designed their coin around gaming with the goal of it being the most usable cryptocurrency for the industry.
Enjin announced the test launch of their SDK for Unity on March 14th. According to Enjin’s press released article, the partnership announced with Unity, will allow Enjin to demo the SDK on March 18th at the Game Developers Conference, which is the largest gaming industry event.
“Prior to GDC on the 18th, Unity will add the Blockchain SDK to the front page of its Asset Store—putting Enjin’s powerful blockchain game development tools into the hands of millions of Unity developers. The Blockchain SDK has been a labor of love, developed by our team of AAA developers who have worked for the likes of BioWare, Activision, IO Interactive, and EA.”
In the release, it states the new SDK will allow developers to “create unlimited fungible (identical) and non-fungible (unique) assets with a single smart contract — resulting in faster transaction times, significantly lower gas fees, and the ability to mass produce tokens with minimal effort”
This means that with the new SDK, it will allow app developers to build and integrate ERC-1155 assets into their games and make it possible for these assets to be distributed with faster transaction times and near zero gas fees.
“To date, more than 45 games, apps, and websites have adopted ERC-1155, many of which have opted to share select assets—enabling users to utilize their virtual item inventory across multiple games and platforms.”
